So Leonardo DiCaprio will possibly win the Oscar next Sunday. A Popperian
may claim that the previous utterance is metaphysical and unrefudiable. For
if DiCaprio does not get it the utterer can always claim:
"I only said "possibly".
"You said "more" than that", the Popperian may refudiate.
The plot of DiCaprio's film is real. Glass, as his name was, found this
grizzly, or grisly bear, in the United States (of America).
Grice said that his surname could either mean:
i. pig -- in Scots -- an extinct variety. In which case "Grice" would be a
British surname.
ii. grey -- in Anglo-Norman -- an extinct variety. In which case "Grice"
would ALSO be a British surname.
A grizzly bear is thus called because of her (in DiCaprio's case) shade of
grey: No. 38, I think.
Cheers,
Speranza
