Thanks to those who wrote kind words in response to 4 Grandkids, and thanks
also to those who refrained from writing mean words.
In response to Paul's message, yes, it is truly hard to understand how some
parents can be cruel to their children. People have told me stories of
their growing up with parents who seemed to thrive on doling out physical /
psychological abuse. It's amazing there aren't more sociopaths out there
nursing a life-long desire to kill anyone they can.
Ursula's observation that you can only find what is already in you, smacks
of Gnosticism to me -- Gnosticism as I interpret it and agree with. How
ideas or values or appreciations get inside us to begin with, I don't know.
There's not much of that kind of knowledge in me to work with.
