Here's a list for folks with an interest in pragmatic approaches to knowledge.

Richard Rorty, Philosophy and Social Hope
Howard Becker, Tricks of the Trade: How to Think About Your Research
While You're Doing It
Gary Klein, Sources of Power: How People Make Decisions

<These are long-time favorites>

Gerald M. Weinberg, An Introduction to General Systems Thinking
(Silver Anniversary Edition)
Peter Checkland and Jim Scholes, Soft Systems Methodology in Action
Benoit Mandelbrot and Richard Hudson, The (Mis)behavior of Markets

<These are recent discoveries>

Taken in the order presented here, they form a seriously good course
on how to think about knowledge and learning freed from the endless
muddle of the classic Greek antitheses (substance/accident,
truth/opinion, etc., etc., etc.)

Says, John, seriously hoping to stir some people up.
