Then again, housing (in the environs of a second-rate city with canals
anyway,) is much cheaper than NYC, so perhaps it all balances out in the
cheaper price of books and food.  The important thing to consider is
that the price of a decent pint is about the same yet the real ales are
much better in England.  One can always continue rereading the classics
for free on the laptop so long as the lack of page turning doesn't begin
to distract...
