interest in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy
decisions affecting those resources. The program, which is sponsored by the
NOAA's National Sea Grant College Program, matches highly qualified graduate
students with hosts in the legislative and executive branches of government
located in the Washington, D.C. area for a one-year paid fellowship.

2. Postdoctoral Research Associate
We are looking for a postdoctoral research associate at Indiana University in
Bloomington, Indiana. The candidate will be part of the Integrated Atmospheric
Deposition Network (IADN) team. During the 25 years IADN has been operating,
we have accumulated over 1 million measurements. We are looking for an
enthusiastic and creative post-doctoral associate with a background in
environmental engineering or environmental science and with experience in
analyzing environmental data using statistical and geographic data techniques.
The minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in environmental or analytical chemistry
or environmental engineering. The successful candidate should have
demonstrated an ability to work independently and in a large research group.
Organizational proficiency and strong oral and written communication skills (in
English) are essential. Experience in programming and GIS analyses is
desirable. Experience in organic extraction and chemical analyses using mass
spectrometry and in the analysis of persistent organic pollutants are a plus
but not necessary.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications. The initial appointment at Indiana
University will be for one year, with possibilities for extension to a second
year if funding permits. The starting date is flexible. If interested, send
