Compartilhando essa oportunidade para participar de um grupo de discussão
sobre o desenvolvimento de métodos, técnicas e padronizações de
monitoramento automatizado de biodiversidade (e.g. contagem automatizada de
insetos, registro de interações por vídeo, etc...). Caso tenham interesse,

I am part of a rather large community of researchers and practitioners that
meet infrequently (2 hours every month) to discuss various topics related
to technical aspects of automated monitoring of organisms and interactions.
This is a project led by the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, you can

To give you more of a feel for what's going on, the topics of the last
three meetings were: "Designing machine learning tools to process camera
trap data automatically"; "Assessing automated insect monitoring";
"Hardware design for camera traps for moth monitoring". As you can see,
there is a heavy focus on insects, but this can change!
Currently, researchers from tropical countries are underrepresented, so I
thought I'd reach out to you guys to ask if you have someone working in
tropical ecosystems that could be interested in joining in these meetings.
They are very informal and very well organized, I learned a lot by joining
in!
