The NEC corporation is working on the development of Linux-based cell phones with MontaVista Software, and is in talks with other cell phone makers to begin similar projects focused on the global and Japanese markets. NEC executive Scott Hedrick says, "One of our customers wants to move its entire product line to MontaVista Linux."
