I've got a machine running Slack 8.0 =) and I have a serial line connected to it. My desktop machine is a Win2k box. I can get the serial line to work and have the console displayed on it just fine. My problem is that the screen scrolls up 1 extra line when I run some programs. Example is running pine. Pine places its own little 'description' bar across the top. That bar gets scrolled up and the display is 'altered' a bit. Any suggestions?? also, I've tried several different settings in the /etc/inittab file for the serial line and all have yieled the same results. Here are the settings I have tried: s1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 ttyS0 s1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 ttyS0 linux s1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 ttyS0 vt100 s1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 19200 ttyS0 vt100 (note that I have modified the /etc/inittab file and tried each line individually, they are not all in the inittab file at the same time cause that would probably cause some problems) I am using Hyperterminal Private Edition 6.3 on Windows 2000. Could this terminal be the problem? Any / all suggestions are welcome.
