Yesterday I wrote that I would try to compile the latest master of
Liblouisutdml for Windows, but after looking at the sources in the
master I think it is better to wait for a release or pre-release, so the
normal compilation method can be tested. It is already complicated
enough and compiling from the master requires extra effort.

In what way does it require effort? Can't you just download the zip file (https://github.com/liblouis/liblouisutdml/archive/master.zip) and run ./autogen.sh && ./configure && make ? Hm, well, maybe on windows this doesn't work.

In addition I am missing any appearance of the current version number. I
understand that the version number is added in the release, but is not
available in the master, at least I could not find it.

I added a new version number 2.7.0 to configure.ac. Whether or how this is used in the Windows build I could not determine.

I uploaded a pre-release to https://github.com/liblouis/liblouisutdml/releases/tag/v2.7.0-alpha1.

Hope that helps
Christian
