Hi all,
This is a message forwarded from NVDA support list. If there are any English speakers who knows foreign language codes for French and German used in UK, please contact this person offlist so
you can come up with something. Thanks.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [NVDA] British French and German Braille with NVDA?
Date sent: Mon, 5 Aug 2013 16:47:55 +0100

Hello,

I've had a demonstration of the Brailliant (HumanWare Braille display) today but, what both the person from the company and I don't know, is whether NVDA has the Braille tables to support reading the British versions of both the French and German Braille codes, rather than the versions of the codes used in French and German-speaking countries. This would obviously affect whether or not I buy the device because, without being able to read the Braille in the codes I'm used to, it wouldn't be worth having I don't think. I know that when embossing Duxbury copes fine with them as that was what I've used previously but I'm not very sure about the situation with Braille and NVDA. Do any of you happen to know whether NVDA will be able to produce the Braille on the display in the British version of the French and German codes? Otherwise, do you happen to know if either Macs or Jaws support the codes I need?

Many thanks for reading this - any advice you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Best wishes,

Charlie
