liblouisutdml uses the typeform parameter successfully. 

I would also like to point out that there are good reasons for 
separating translation and formatting. Applications like screen readers 
may want to do their own formatting. Moreover, formatting involves 
handling xml and html. People who just need translation may not wish to 
carry around all that extra baggage.
