Thanks Michael. That makes sense. In Mercurial is there a way to list what
tags are available rather than just searching through the log?

Best regards from Ohio,

Vic

Hello Vic,
A tag in the repository is a way of labelling a given revision, so you
can easily refer to that revision by the tag name rather than needing to
remember the revision number/hash code.

In mercurial, where ever you might give a revision number to a mercurial
command you can give the tag name.

Other version control systems (eg. SVN) may implement tags in a slightly
different way to mercurial, but the basics roughly are the same as the
above.
