Hello,
OK, I understand that the xy attribute of the newline node is used to states the coordinates of the start of the newline in Braille.

However I am unclear as to its use and its impact on the rest of UTDML.

So the x part of the attribute defines how far in from the edge of the page the line should start, the indent of the line. If I understand it correctly then the actual Braille content of the brl node should not have spaces to achieve the indent. Is this correct?

Possibly more confusing is the y part of the atribute. If I want to leave some vertical space in the Braille content (eg. leave a blank line), should the UTDML contain multiple newline nodes (in the blank line case two newline nodes) or should there be a sigle newline node with an appropriately set y coordinate?

If it should be multiple newline nodes, then I get stuck as to why the y coordinate even needs giving.
