Hi Ken,
We have a similar system for our remote waste transfer stations. We've got a
handful of Surface Go tablets set up with Bepoz, with the server being a VM. We
also utilise their customer/rewards system for our 'digital tipping vouchers'.
We also use a Bepoz Till (not the tablets) in our Cultural Centre (Art
Gallery), and the associated café (and most of our other sites). All are linked
back to the same virtual server under a 'multi-venue' configuration. Given the
very minimal requirement for a portable POS at our gallery, at the time it was
decided that we'd first try a tablet and VNC to the main POS - although the
requirement is so low this is still untested a few years later.
In terms of usability, it's a very familiar and standard POS screen and very
customisable. Users who don't even use a computer as part of their daily work
seem to have no issue using the POS.
I've got a good contact there I can get you in touch with if you'd like any
more info.
Cheers

Subject: lg-it Point of Sale System for Art Gallery
[EXTERNAL Message: Be cautious of clicking on links or opening attachments.]
Asking on behalf of our Art Gallery, which is a business unit of Council.
The Gallery are looking at retiring their old cash register. The register
itself is in fine condition, but the software used to program the PLU keys is
very temperamental with running under Windows 10 and the connection is serial
based. Many USB to serial connections will not work.
The gallery is looking at some form of tablet Point of Sale system which may be
suitable for an Art Gallery situation and simple enough where volunteers
working at the Gallery may be able to process receipts. The Gallery have looked
at Square which they said would have been perfect with their large picture
based icons. But Square will not deal with Government which I find very strange.
So if your gallery has a POS system I'd be very interested in finding out which
one they have installed and whether it is stand alone (installed on the device)
or cloud based.
Regards
