Hi Nick,
I know this doesn't really answer the real problem, but our rangers and parking
officers have gone down the path of using a timestamp camera app instead of the
native camera app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jeyluta.timestampcamerafree&hl=en_AU&gl=US
https://apps.apple.com/au/app/timestamp-camera-basic/id840110184
I can see the issues with it - but my understanding is that the managers are
happy with using these for any legal reasons. More happy than losing metadata
via outlook that is.
I believe we did some testing and found that OneDrive doesn't remove metadata,
so we set up OneDrive with the automatic camera roll sync enabled. This meant
the photos were available for the user to download to their computer whenever
they liked. I personally think this is the ideal solution assuming it keeps the
required metadata - I think we only checked the date field.
Cheers

Subject: lg-it Outlook mobile client removes metadata from images
[EXTERNAL Message: Be cautious of clicking on links or opening attachments.]
Hi all,
We have found the Outlook mobile (Android and iOS) client attaches images
inline and also removes metadata (camera specs, location, date) from the image.
We'd like to use the Outlook client to maintain software parity across
corporate devices however this limitation is difficult for our outdoor staff
who need to email images for records.
I have found there is a feature request for the images being attached inline,
but has anyone had any luck or a workaround with the metadata being removed
from images?
Outlook attachments on Uservoice:
https://outlook.uservoice.com/forums/293346-outlook-for-android/suggestions/37720315-provide-a-choice-between-inline-images-and-attachm
I currently have an open ticket with Microsoft regarding the metadata but
haven't gotten far yet.
