Can't think of anything- I assumed that I was previously using the 2d pane to
model but I was actually using the 3d one. The 3d one is still working fine. I
don't know why there's a difference between the two panes.
I tried a partial import (about 6K square of a 10k) and the 2d was as quick to
update as the 3d.

Can you think of anything that changed between when it worked fast and when
it doesn't? e.g., document size, brush size, any other settings? Did you
recently install or remove anything on your computer?

Conversely, can you get it to work fast by changing document size, or having
the same configuration on a different machine?

Hi Ray, I'm having trouble with the Smudge tool. I've been working on a
terrain and left off for a couple of weeks. Now, after returning to it, it's
not performing the same way. The update is extremely slow. I've tried brush
continuously but it's still the same. The lighting setting are set on quickest.
I'm working soley in the 2D pane.Any ideas what it could be?
