That's pretty much what I was going to say regarding tiling support, :)
-The export as tile feature would be useful, including the resizing option.
-The importation of adjacent tiles in such a setup- ctrl-click, and they would be automatically aligned is another idea.
At ME-DEM we will be tiling large dems at 200m res. Each of the many tiles will upscaled x10 to 20m and worked on seperately or in groups (eg 2x2) and exported back into the database or whatever. In turn, each of these tiles will be put through the same process to produce 2m dems eventually. Basically any feature expediting this process would be a boon.

I would like very much if we could automatically build grids of terrains - and let Leveller split up the edges into tiles so that everything matched up.

Preferably, this would be sort of dynamic, so you could do operations on
the 'grid' and have that apply to the tiles, but it would be OK if we
started with a lower resolution grid, did our overall shaping work, then
worked on the smaller grids.

Fot the simplest step, I'd like to have a command to break down a
terrain into a gridded series and save each piece. The next step would
be to automatically resize each of the grids on export.

A macro capability would be nice.

the floor is open to discussing the future.

My list so far has:

- Direct spline support
- Texture editing
- Material maps
- Layers
- More cohesive file format
- Macros
