Doug,
Over the years, I've found that pretty much all of the "M" lenses, without
exception, outperform their "R" counterparts. I used a late 135mm f/2.8 "M"
lens-head on a short focussing mount & a 14167 (3rd cam) adapter on all of my
"R"
bodies and it was noticeably sharper, even through the viewfinder than it's
"R" equivalent. For ease of use, just set the "R" body to aperture priority AE
and focus wide open, then stop the lens down and shoot!!
