I had one for R to Canon, and it was great!  I have another ordered, 
this time with the focus confirmation chip, for use with the upcoming 
Canon 40D.

The only problem with R to Nikon adapters is that whilst they work, 
they will not focus an R lens to infinity.  The Nikon body 
(registration, it's called) it too thick for that.
