Aram, Bill...

I have to agree.  Heavy-weight mirrorless bodies defeat the entire idea of
mirrorless.

Despite the arguments about FF over APSC over m43, I still like my two Olys,
and get results that  truly please my clients.  They are small, lightweight,
and incredibly capable.   What more can I say?

David.

Aram,

Thanks, I have an SL and like it very much when I don't have to carry it
far.

I prefer my M 240 for "normal" walking around photography.

For AF or zoom, I use a TL 18-56 zoom (27-84 35mm equiv.) with the SL,
marginally heavier than the M but, sigh, APS-C.

I have an irrational desire for full-frame cameras and am still grieving
over the 35-70 R experience that I lost.

I was taught that when you recognize danger or a problem, never doubt it
because you have been fooling yourself for some time.

That moment for me came when the R9-DMR ended with no logical Leica
replacement and I have been fooling myself ever since that all will be
well. Mirrorless heavy-weights are not the answer.

I hope the knee is behaving.

Best,

Bill

Thanks for the link, Bill.  I got to try the S1 version a month or so
ago.  I agree with Thorsten.  Great camera, but BIG and probably not
for me. Like the SL.  I played with it for about 30 minutes inside and
outside.  If it were 30% lighter/smaller I would consider it very
seriously as the mirrorless camera that gets me to abandon my Nikon
DSLR.

Hi,

Here is a link to Thorsten's talk about the new Lumix L-Mount
cameras.

Spoiler: In the video, Thorsten says they are they are ? the right
camera for the the wrong guy," i.e., they are not for him.

But the important thing for me is down the page below the video:
Lumix S1R test files for free.

I downloaded the 47 MP files and received RAW2 and jpeg files and
opened them in Lightroom Classic.

The jpegs are amazing, incredible to me; I had no idea.

Take a look, especially the photo of the textured bags, and tell us
what you think.

With best regards,

Bill
