Ed,

Juan summed thing up quite well.
My own experience involves an Oly E1 with Leica R glass.

My favourite lens is an old 135mm f2.8 Elmarit. On the E1, with the 2X
multiplier for field of view, this is a whopping 280mm.
The adaptor is a CameraQuest model from Stephen Gandy.

I don't have focusing problems that some people talk about. Possibly due
to decades of manual focus Rangefinder & old SLR use, and never owning a
high-speed autofocus machine. Also may be due to the E1 viewfinder being a
little bit wider and brighter than the other models.

The Four Thirds format suits my needs and results with Leica glass are
impressive. I own one modern Zuiko lens (50mm f2 Macro) and have to say
it's images are right up there with those of Leica glass for sharpness and
contrast.

PJQ

Please ignore the auto attached legal mumbo-jumbo....

I'm looking to upgrade to a SLR digital and would like to use my Leica R
glass. The more I research the digital SLRs the more confusing it gets.
I'dappreciate any suggestions for a moderately priced digital SLR (under
$1000) body. I've looked at the new Nikon D80 and the Cannon 30D. Any
othersuggestions re SLR vs 4/3s? Thanks to all, Ed
