For my purposes AF won't solve the problem until it's quick and accurate
everywhere in the picture area, not just at a limited number of points.
For most DLSR cameras, AF isn't calculated from the sensor. It's a
subsystem that has to be aligned as accurately as viewscreen/sensor
alignment for accurate focus.
