Good thing you didn't let me drive your van...you'd never have got home. 
Now...regarding curses. it seemed to me that, re. that van, you're ahead of the 
curve, curse wise.
It was fun chatting with you. Shoulda brought my wife but she said she had 
other stuff to do. Needs to get out more.

Ah Ha.  You jinxed the lens when you handled it in the campground.  :-) 
(Make that a really BIG smiley face.)

It is painful making a decision.  I am leaning towards the 24-120/4 since it 
has image stabilization and is much lighter than the 24-70/2.8.  Then when 
we return I'll look into getting the other repaired.

It was nice meeting and talking to you, even if you did put a curse on my 
lens.  (Another :-)  )
