WOW! David, these two are spectacular! The colors, the lighting, and, most
important, the “action” that you caught! Your explanation of conditions just
reinforces the magnitude of the images for me. Thank you very much. What a
great way to end your “ Ice Racing season”!!
Best regards,

Fellow Flexers...
Yesterday was the "rain date" for our Ice Racing. The season was officially
over, last weekend, but they always hold one weekend in reserve, in case of
an earlier date being canceled. And, this year, they lost the first two.
It turned out to be the best racing of the year, as more riders who'd given
up after the loss of the 2018 season, got out their bikes and studded tires.
However, ice conditions were weird, despite the mild-ish, -21C (-6F)
temperatures. The ice surface was such that the tires sprayed up clouds of
ice crystals, creating a fog that sometimes made it impossible to see the
second batch of riders. If the wind was just right, it would sometimes clear
before the first group came 'round again, but mostly not.
If you were lucky, you could catch a rider emerging from the fog, but even
that was rare.

But, if the breeze cleared things a bit, you could catch the lead group...
It looks like it's snowing, but it's not. Note that the lead rider, #78, has
no "snow" in front of him ... while the others do.
