Well, I’ll be dern! Sonny, the image of the Tilly in that articleRegards,
convinces me that the hat I had was a Tilly-knock-off. It was brown with a
brim just like the one in the story, but shorter in the crown and didn’t
have the vent ports. Man, I guess it's a another case of something tried
and true spawns imitation. Y’all have convinced me! I’m gonna go find a
one! 😃
Thanks!

The elephant story is stronger than that. It happened in Ontario, and the
elephant keeper’s Tilly was eaten three times. He washed it after finding
it each time, and keep wearing it. He declined getting a replacement.

I'm on my second Tilley as one of my sons confiscated my first one, shown
here, south of the border.

Gosh, looking good in both chapeau shots, David. Thanks for the update onRegards,
the hats, seriously. I had no idea about them, and I’m always in the market
for wide brimmed hats that last - I’m kinda hard on them getting in and out
of the truck and tractor in the groves. Ya know, I think I had one hat
sometime back - a wide brimmed, but made of a waxy duck-cloth that was made
in Washington state - Puget Sound region. It may have been an imitation of
your and Howard’s Tilley. I can’t recall the brand name or small town it
came from. It was a good sturdy hat; but I don’t know that it would have
survived an elephant's digestive process. That was a great story. Thanks
for the smile.

Gosh, I don't see anything to "complain" about regarding the bokeh,
Howard. I often think that a lot of "internet complaining" is like the
ancient religious arguments like how many angels can fit on the head of
a pin. It looks fine to me. Now, having said that...can we talk about
