Hi Richard,

Frankly, if the situation is not even the Greece's one, it may be worse
soon.
25% of the adult population is unemployed. More than 50% of people under 30
is unemployed.
Salaries are wretched, comparing to other European countries, although the
cost of living is similar.
Young people with university degrees enough, migrate if they can. No future
for them. Ugly future for the others.
I do not understand about economics subtleties, but I am aware the country
is in held of powers without scruples, inside and outside.

Cheers,
Marc

Spain!
Wow... I follow BBC World Service and financial news on CNBC here in the
states. I hear Things are Great Depression/1930's kinda bad in your patch of
the world. A telling vignette for me regarding your country was seeing three
of the hosts on cnbc (a business channel where deregulation, smaller govt,
and less spending is 'the party line') jointly saying "Spain has been doing
the 'right' thing and cutting like crazy for a few years, but that it hasnt
stopped the recession and very delicately saying it's time to try 'something
else' to get economic growth to return. Without growth of some kind it won't
get better." The 'something else' they danced delicately to not say out
loud, of course, being deficet spending which is anathema dogmatically, but
dogma was coming up short in their view. If Business Network talking heads
in america are crossing up on their dogma to say such things, the economic
situation for your country must be a real train wreck.

I hope the situation improves soon for Spain and allof the EU countries for
that matter.

Sincerely
Richard Ward
