Aram,
Nicely done. I like it.

OK, already. Back to the drawing board. So, I used Lightroom with a
mask and darkened and desaturated the background and got this. Low Key

Kept the flower the same color/density that way.

I guess, Aram, it depends on whether you are going for nature "au naturel"
or whether you're going for "art".
Whatever floats yer boat!
As for backgrounds, a piece of matte, black fabric, that doesn't wrinkle,
that can be folded up in a bag or pocket, and held/draped out the the depth
of field, might help.
Back in 2011 I posted a flower from a Christmas Cactus that Rose wanted me
to shoot for her. I used matte black mat-board, but it still left a greyish
look.

So, I increased the black level to bring everything into line, and it
slightly increased the saturation of the flower, as well. (Scroll down for
this second shot.)
Even with a decent background, you still may have to "fiddle".
Have fun!
David.
Thanks for the input. It looks good, but the color of the flower is not------
right anymore. I wish we had a better black background that would show
up truly black.

Nice, Aram! If I have to choose, I'd take the "normal", but both are good.------
If I may be so bold, I'd suggest a third treatment ... "Low Key".
