David,
Truly awful.
Can you offer any data, opinions, or anecdotal evidence of the ice racer’s
accident rate that involves medical help?
I.e., though the sport looks terribly dangerous, in reality what actually
happens? How often are riders physically harmed?
I assume the bike rider's liability (and maybe medical) insurance is not in
effect during these races.
What does the world famous Canadian health care system offer the racers?
Just curious,
Bill

Good Mornin'!
Many of the guys & gals (yes, there are some!!) simply lose their grip when
taking a corner too fast. But, the problems arise when two bikes collide,
at speed.
Here are two shots of a rather spectacular crash.
If you look at one, look at the second, as well, for both shots were taken
within the same second (according to the Exif data) and "motor drive" was not
used.
