Hi Peter!
Does, fawns & yearlings, as well as some young bucks, are common as dirt. And
that buck is hardly a big boy... but bucks are less common, in town.
This morning, we had a doe & her two fawns eating from our crab apple tree ...
and several other does have passed through, during the day. Not unusual to see
a dozen or more, every day of the year ... which is why I so rarely take
pictures of them.
All are less common in the back yard, though they can all jump the 4 foot (1.2
meter) fence from a standing start. (The front is not fenced.)
As for the bucks, it will take more than our early dusting (The snow is gone by
11am each day, and serious snow does not usually arrive until half-past
November) to bring the boys out of the hills.
I liked the second shot, because the forecasters talk about the "snow line",
but you seldom see it, quite so graphically.

Very nice, David. Now here's a cluster of questions seeking to tie the------
last three images together. Do you often have deer of that size come
thru your yard? Is there any chanca that the impending weather front
that you captured drove the big boy down out of the heights above and
around Logan Lake?
