Hi Rich!
I understand that there have been a few "stretch" Trabi limos made, but outside
the factory; each a one-off.
The Trabant 601 (the most prolific model) was made in a "Limousine " variant,
but it was no bigger, just with nicer interior trim.
I see, too, that there is a German group trying to re-introduce the Trabi, both
as gas & all-electric models. However, they've been trying to get investors
since 2007 - so far, it seems, without success. And I imagine the new Trabi
would bear as little resemblance to the original as the new Mini has to the
original Austin Mini.

I thought I saw on a longer German production on You Tube about the
50th anniversary of the car, some general street shots. I think I saw an
auto that looked like a stretch Trabant. If so, do you know if they were
factory
produced or some resourceful types mated a couple of them to make a
proletariat limo?. Best. Rich Palmer
