Steve

Hi Charlie, Bill
Thank you for your support, and the interesting discussions we have had before. I haven't taken a final decision yet, but I am no longer feeling positive about this forum. Incidentally, in the event, perhaps I SHOULD have compared Steve to John Rabe, who was a Nazi Party official - and if you know / read about him, you will understand why.

I have just returned from a family celebration in Seattle, and as I review mail I see this...its leaves me at a loss to say the least.

What on earth has been going on here, and please tell us all...what
does this refer to Keith ?

Do you not remember our on-line and off-line discussions about photographs and context? Clearly not. With the examples that I cited to illustrate the point that I was making, Philippe accused me of comparing you to the Nazis, etc., etc., and followed it with an obviously indignant diatribe about his family's damage at their hands. Which accusation has, as I said, deeply offended me, since I did nothing of the sort.

The related thread is below, latest at the top:

Phil
On the contrary, from my point of view, there is harm done. I did NOT compare Steve B's photographs with the others that I mentioned; and I certainly did NOT compare Steve himself with the Nazis. I am deeply offended that you should publish such comment, especially after you e-mailed me off-line, and appeared to accept that I did not do anything like this. I raised what I thought was a reasonable point, and tried to solicit a sensible response from the forum. Obviously, I failed to do so. I used the examples that I did, because I thought that if I had voiced what went through my mind, someone would probably take umbrage, and these were the best examples that I could think of to illustrate my point.

Indeed, the photographs that I sent to Charlie off line were nothing directly to do with the Nazis anyway, but that fact obviously doesn't enter the equation.

Given the course of events, I doubt that my continued participation in this forum is at all tenable.
Keith Longmore

No harm done Keith.
Let's keep shooting and sharing, shall we?
