If anyone here has watched the Oscar winning documentary, "Free Solo", they
will appreciate the magnitude of this accomplishment.
Myself, I've never been to Yosemite, but in my youth, I climbed the Squamish
Chief (these days, it is more politically correct to call it "The Stawamus
Chief"). Not as tall as El Cap, but definitely the best rock climb in Canada.
Like El Cap, it is a butte, so you can either climb the face or hike up the
back. Either way, the view from the top is spectacular.
