The eclipse, as seen from Orin Junction, Wyoming.
We had fabulous weather. Even the smoke from the Montana, Washington & BC
wildfires moderated for a few hours, and seeing was great!
These three shots were taken 4 seconds apart.
As the sun emerges from behind the moon, the bright light reduces the amount of
the corona that is visible, but you can still see some of it...

By four seconds later, the sun is blowing out the highlights in the image, but
you really see the effect...

and finally, with the exposure rolled back 2.3 stops, you get the full
effect... including the solar prominences.
