As Peter K. has just shown, snow can be lovely.
But, if you have to "reach" a long way through it, such as with a 300 or 400mm
lens, it wreaks havoc with autofocus!
I spent my day at Stake Lake, as promised. Conditions were a bit rough, with
moderate to heavy snowfall and a "mild" -26C (-15 Fahrenheit, for those in the
USA) that never varied. At least there was only a light breeze.
Here, in Logan Lake, as I write at 10PM, it is a much warmer -23.4C. (All
things are relative.)
Most of today's shots can be described as unmitigated disasters, because of
failed AF.
But, sometimes we get lucky.
