As I raised the battery issue, I can say that in the end, battery issues
are none - you buy an extra battery at the cost of a couple of rolls - I
received mine this morning => problem solved.

Another adigitalvantage so far is not having to change film (cards now
have a very comfortable capacity), hence carrying rolls along with you -
and as you can adapt ISO on the fly why bother?
So long as you do not intend to enlarge too much or project on a very
large screen (4m x 3m for example) you don't really have to worry about
quality.

David and Doug are using their R8s + DMR where the viewfinder remains
the same - not every camera company offers this fantastic feature; this
is a downside for most of their Dameras but as many offer autofocus ,
clarity of the finder is not such an issue any longer. What IS a problem
is wide-angles. We'll have to wait for the full format R10 to use them
at the full capacity (if ever there is such an R10).

Ted wrote that trying is believing - I share this opinion as a newcomer
to the numerique world (although my internet address says I'm
numeric-able , should in fact be read numeri-cable ;-) ).
Of course, as soon as light and sunshine are back, I'll take the three
Rs out for mighty walks. You can't kick the old habit just like this,
and the ear misses a lot when you fire some shutters too.

Give iD a try, you might like iD.
