In addition most of these P&S digi people will also primarily look at there pictures on their PC monitor, so how would they be able to see the difference? On the other hand the renewed focus on picture taking from P&S digi and mobile phones will also entice new people to become interesred in photography, and once they realize how limited those technologies are from a quality of picture- and composing freedom point of view, they might migrate to a Digital SLR, and eventually end up using the R9 (ok, just dreaming there...) A week ago at a family gathering my brother was using a P&S digital while I used the R4 with 90 'cron and ISO 400 C-41 film. The difference in picture quality was startling. I suspect the P&S market accepts this poor level of quality because of limited exposure to better-quality snapshots, just as the vast majority of the SLR market (digi or film) is fearful of manual focus due to lack of exposure to a good manual-focus camera.
