Wow! Not only is it a beautiful piece, David, I am amazed at his workmanship.
How he got the exterior dimpled texture in a wood surface so consistently is
baffling! I appreciate that painting or staining it white coould cover a bunch
of process-marks, but still it’s an amazing piece or work/art. I’m certain that
whomever is going to be receipent will be vary appreciative - or should be! :)
Thanks for sharing the craftmanship! What a pleasure to see it.
Best regards,
Peter S.

As many of you now, I'm part of a small, artist's co-op.
The other day, Rose and I were looking for a house-warming gift, and wanted
something unique.
So we picked up a ceramic bowl, by Pat Tomb.

The only problem with it, is that the bowl is not ceramic ... it's maple!

Pat is a wood turner and does the most amazing work. What really gets me is
that before I was part of the gallery, I was on the craft-fair circuit for a
dozen years. In that time I met many wood turners, most very good, and all
with 15, 20 or more years experience.
Pat does work like I've never seen, yet he has only been doing it for 3 years!
But his work is so unique, I thought I'd share with anyone interested.
David.
