Rose and I took the same train (at least it sure looks the same) from Satun
(southern Thailand) to Bangkok, many years ago. Except that the A/C was
broken, so we traveled with the windows open. Mind you, it as a cool-ish 42C.

For anyone interested, we covered the 850km overnight (13hours in fact, hence
the berths) when it would take one of our fast trains about 3 hours to do so.
Also, this train, made in China, had the A/C (b)locked on DeepFreezing. No
way could the shivering attendants modify the temp. And we could hear each
others' jaws and teeth making unusual funny noises :-)
