Thanks David, the stone of the building is usually much greyer/colder, but with the sunset light and the electric lightings, it looked nice enough for me to give it a try. For anyone interested in history, Metz was a place where French protestants (and other religious denonomintaions) were protected for a while during the religious wars before emigrating to Dresden (Germany) and other places where their craftmanship and talents were much appreciated. France lost quite a lot in the ordeal as a result; typical, is it not? The building is currently home to a nice exhibition on what French protestants suffered under the Catholic kings and queens in the 16th century - seems this temple is one of the oldest in western France by the way.
