Hi Actually the R3 didn't have flex circuits. Instead it had about as many wires as a car! But it looks like the basic circuitry is operating and you may simply need to CLA the thing. There are about a dozen switche in that camera, any one of which can getr dirty. Some can be accessed by removing the bottom cover. Others can be acessed by removing the advance side leatherette and a few more can be gotten to by removing the top plates. Whatever the case it looks like dirty switches. A CLA might be doable for under 100 by a local Leica or Minolta repairman. Hint: A Minolta guy may have more experience with Xes than a Leica guy may have with R3s and the Minilta guy might be cheaper. The R3 is a tough little camera that keeps on ticking!
