Hi
Actually the R3 didn't have flex circuits. Instead it
had about as many wires as a car! But it looks like
the basic circuitry is operating and you may simply
need to CLA the thing. There are about a dozen switche
in that camera, any one of which can getr dirty. Some
can be accessed by removing the bottom cover. Others
can be acessed by removing the advance side
leatherette and a few more can be gotten to by
removing the top plates. Whatever the case it looks
like dirty switches. A CLA might be doable for under
100 by a local Leica or Minolta repairman. Hint: A
Minolta guy may have more experience with Xes than a
Leica guy may have with R3s and the Minilta guy might
be cheaper. The R3 is a tough little camera that keeps
on ticking!
Javier
