Hi David,

One reason I can think of for having a larger than full frame sensor
is to allow built into the body anti-shake, where the last few mm of
the sensor will not be within the image circle of the lens.

OTOH, the new mount, if it does not offer full compatibility with old
lenses will be a disaster for current owners. I suspect this is why
some UK stockists were clearing out inventory.  I would not be
surprised to see an all electronic AF mount, Contax-N or Canon EOS
style with some sort of Electro-mechanical adapter, perhaps with
built-in optics,  to allow R mount lenses to be used on the new body.

I am curious about film in the new R system. Will there be an AF film body too?
