Gary. I will support this option, too. I bought the cheap China knockoff's
from E-bay instead of Leitax, and they work just fine. I had to drill a few
more holes for the R100 APO since it has more screws than most R lenses, but
the conversion is easy. Well, not for the 35-70/4, but everything else is
just unscrew, remove a few parts, then put the new mount in place and screw
it back in. I have done my 50 Cron, my 35-70 and my 100 APO. I have kept a
few in R mount to use on my R8, which I just finished a roll from 9 years
ago and almost finished another off on a shoot the other day. It sure was
nice looking through a real viewfinder and being able to focus manually with
100% (I think) accuracy. So bright and clear compared to all the Nikon and
Canon bodies I have used since going digital. Amazing.
and here I thought it was my eyes that have failed. Nope, just digital
viewfinders. If only they had just stripped the guts and made a digital
R10 I would have been in heaven.

Gary,
Another full frame solution for using your R lenses is leitax nikon bayonets
to change R lenses into Nikon mount ones.
Nikon flange distance is too narrow to fit in an adaptor - like you can with
Canon, for example.
I have retained two R lenses - the redoubtable R 28 V2 and the R100 APO -
which I use to good effect on my D800E.

I've been on "vacation" for way too long, but I still use my R system from
time to time during my film rotations. I've recently gained some
interest in using digital "backs" with my R lenses. I'm mostly
interested in using the Fujifilm X series for their Acros simulation as
they've discontinued their film version. But since they are not full
framed I don't want to crop my WA's to a normal.
Is there an archive here I can access for users experience? I know a lot
have started this endeavor since the first gen of the Sony A7, so there
must be a lot to read up on. I've already checked online and seen the
common materials, but I hoped maybe this forum of Leica R lovers would
give me a deeper insight. Thanks in advance.
