Yes, Sonny, you are right! It's an f1.8. My bad.
Can anyone tell my the proper pronunciation of Yongnuo?

Nice. It is well reviewed at the price point. But, looks like it's an f1.8
in the literature.

My mechanic's wife was given an old, Canon Rebel XTi, from 2007. It works,
but the lens did not, so we needed a replacement.
Because she knows not what she is doing (she's taking my beginners class,
in two weeks) we needed a lens that (a) worked and (b) did not cost too
much.
The solution was the Yongnuo 50/2, from China. Brand new, for US $48,
delivered!
I've been playing with it... and it's a bit slow to focus, and hunts in dim
light (not sure if that's the camera or the lens or both) but in decent
light, it's OK, and the f2 makes the Rebel's rather dim, porroprism finder
quite decent to look through. About the only thing I don't care for, even
at the price, it the plastic bayonet mount. But, with only one lens, it
won't wear out quickly!
For sharpness, it's not going to put Leica (or Canon, or Olympus or anybody
else) out of business, but for sub $50 lens, I thought it OK for something
to learn on. Actually, it's remarkably good, when stopped down to f4. Take
a look!
