Good Afternoon, Aram!
Getting the photo can be tricky, as no matter where you are positioned, the
photo opportunity is lost, if the steer decides to run the wrong way.
There are two riders. The Hazer attempts to ride on the right side of the
steer, to keep it running in a consistent direction. This does not always
work, as you can see, in this shot from 2015...

The bulldogger (or Steer Wrestler) rides on the other side of the steer,
attempting to come up from behind and get off his horse, while grabbing the
steer by the horns, to pull it to the ground. Fastest time, wins.
For a brief moment, you end up with the bulldogger with no visible means of

However, gravity soon takes over, as you'd expect.

I don't know how long it took for the bulldogger's feet to hit the ground ...
the Exif data tells me that the two images were taken within the same second.
As so often happens, the later shots were useless, as the bulldogger slowed the
steer, but the hazer's horse is coming into view, in the second shot, and by
the next, the bulldogger could not be seen.
Now, Aram, you live in Rodeo country, so you should get out and see for
yourself.
Rodeo's are a challenge, but when it all comes together, they're great fun to
photograph!

OK. Does he grab the horns from behind do his momentum lift his legs to------
horizontal, or his he jerked backwards so his legs are being drug behind
up to the horizontal position? What is the fysics of this situation.
