Well, meiner Damen und Herren, I got the results from the Pentax Spotmatic II printed today, and I have to say that I am very pleased indeed with the outcome. I know this site is about Leica reflexes, but after the various contre-temps with firstly my R3s, and then with the R-E (or at least, the 250/4 Telyt), the urge to return to my 1960s roots in photography was unstoppable. I returned to Pensthorpe, which is now partly flooded and inaccessible (the awful weather we are having here!) and took a variety of bird photographs. Then I spotted a rat, which was making a nest under a sort of wooden pier. It kept running out to a bowl of food - for the birds - and rooting around under the bowl, then returning to its nest site carrying a chunk of dead grass in its mouth. I've never seen a rat do this, and managed to get some good photographs of it - unfortunately without the dead grass. (When it had the grass, it returned far too quickly to photograph.) I'm going to post some of the pics later, and I hope that (a) you'll enjoy them, and (b) comment. Doug H - got some nice photographs of moorhens. Our local repair man has found the problem with the 250 Telyt: serious maladjustment. Should be sorted tomorrow with luck. This lens was serviced in Germany. A good service - not!

Regards all
