HI Peter!
It was both accurate and easy. If you look at Howard's Pano, as posted, you
can see that all the buildings lean ever so slightly to the right.
One of my major problems in photography is a drooping right shoulder. So many
of my images are off kilter and have to be straightened during processing.
With my preferred Raw developer, RAW THERAPEE, you can drag a line down any
vertical or horizontal line in an image and the program will automagically
bring that line to the nearest of either true horizontal or true vertical when
you release the mouse button.
You do this by clicking and holding the mouse button, while dragging the line
to the other end of whatever it is you are aligning. As you do this, the
program shows the amount that the line is out from either vertical or
horizontal. In the case of Howard's pano, it was out by 2.1 degrees.
Got that?
In my own photos, I am typically out by between 1 & 2.5 degrees, and on of the
reasons I love RT (besides it's being both very capable and free) is the ease
with which I can correct my mistakes.

David, how did you come up with that figure and how'd you do it? I feel
I should've prefaced it with the statement that I'm not being sarcastic
or snarky. I am genuinely mystified as to how you determined first, that
there was a tilt to the image and second, the precise degree of said
tilt. That's amazing. I've gone back and looked at the image several
times cold and I am impressed with your abilities and "eye for
detail?.again! :)

But, it could easily have been me, for I agree that Howard is a
superlative Pano maker.
Howard: A great shot... but I'll ask again a question not answered a
few posts back... about the Main Police Station restoration.
Do you shoot your panos with a tripod (and, perhaps, a specialized
Pano head)? Or, do you, like me, do them, most often, hand held?
I ask only because while it looks terrific, all the buildings have a
2.1 degree tilt to the right! I get that, all the time, with my hand-
held panos ... but its easy to correct, before posting.

Man, Howard, like David said a few weeks back - you are the master------
of the panorama. That's a great image. It makes me wonder if HK has
a subway system. And if it does, it must've been a nightmare for the
engineers and construction crews to navigate around or under all the
deep foundation piers of all those numerous sky-scrappers!
