Thank you Philippe
How would you guys compare the focussing of a leica lens on the D300 or D700
with the manual focussing on the G1? Easier or not ?
I think there are two other main issues : 1) how does image quality compare
between the nikon solution and the G1,

Howard has both and could let you know more about this.
I know Peter Werner in Switzerland said the G1 colours compared favourably with
even the DMR ... (look at the archive, it was about orchids, and posted in the
last month or so)

and 2) I contacted Leitax and it is not sure that my angenieux can be
transformed.

Same answer here - but I've seen they now offer the , is it 45-90 conversion
(not mine but might be yours)

The cams may not be removable without machinery, and to be honest, I do not
think I feel happy with that solution. I have to remove the bayonet before we
can judge that. What do you think ?

I think that if and when I finally take the Nikon route, I'll sell my R angies,
and buy them in Nikon mount from the bay, if I miss them too much.

I'm still keeping my R mounted glass - maybe Leica will come up with a
compromiseless slution for us R eyes people, who know?

Best from Stras
Philippe

greetings Axel

Hi G1 guys

As stated the Leitax option is effective - Steve and Howard are using it - you
probably retrieve links to their posts/pictures in the archives - but it will
impair using the lenses again on an R body with ease.
Also the crop factor of any other solution must be taken into account - works
for long shots (Doug will confirm) not so with WA.
Except for the Canons, but issues have been reported concerning light
measurment which seems unreliable when you close down.
The G1 has an EVF, which in my opinion is fine for some circumstances -
magnification in the EVF for highly accurate manual focus is a real asset -
also works surprisingly well when light is poor - but it remains an EVF ...

More when I can
Bien cordialement de Strasbourg
Philippe

Hi Walter
thank you very much for your fast response.
I want to think this through; The G1 or ...
Could this be a (better ???) alternative ?
http://www.leitax.com/leica-lens-for-nikon-cameras.html
Any experiences ?
I am not going to start with Canon , no ;-) My wife would not survive that
solution !
Thank you for reading
Axel
