Of course it would be nice to have anecdotal reports from this list, but I'm
not sure how many people use the type of digicam you describe.
BTW, you should be able to get a good 8x12 in the price range you specify.
IMO, noise at higher ISOs becomes a significant differentiating factor in
consumer digicams.

and their numbers, but you get the idea.
The Leica lens on the Panasonic attracts me, even on a quickie digital
camera.
If anyone has any insights, I would greatly appreciate it.
(My R8 and/or M6 will still go with me on major vacations, jaunts in the
countryside, etc.)
