Hi Group - Doug made an inquiry regarding a Yashica product and a question popped into my head I wanted to shoot past everyone. It involves adapting Contax/Yashica Lenses to EOS Cameras. My understanding is that while mount adapters are available and in theory they are functional designs they are not exactly comparable to the R mount adapters in the field. The gist of it is the Contax-vs-EOS Lens Flange to film plane difference is narrower than the R-vs-EOS one and it leaves precious little room to construct an adapter which retains it's dimensions, strength, and flatness, in an operational environment. My Query is to wonder if a Leitax type conversion would be a solution for contax lenses like it is for our Leica R ones? I think it would have a market. What do members think? I know the company made at least one truly excellent macro lens, their 2.8/55, but I'd like to know more about the one above.
