Some 200,000 people have been the subjects of obituaries in the New York Times,
since it started publication.
They now have an on-line column that revisits some of the more interesting
people, on the anniversary of their passing.
The third item (scroll down) on this page, is a very interesting write-up on
Henri-Cartier Bresson, who died August, 3, 2004.

Lots of other interesting items there, too.
